Audio Conferencing Solutions

Features Of Audio Conference Software

OnLive! and DataBeam will jointly market and distribute audio conferencing solutions.

"The market's interest in Internet-based group conferencing is growing rapidly," said DataBeam's Vice President of Marketing. "LiveMeeting Suite hits the sweet spot of this market by providing an integrated multi-point voice and data sharing platform that corporations can deploy today in their existing networks." Customers using LiveMeeting Suite as a business collaboration tool include Instill Corporation and SSA Softwright. Other major corporations and telecommunications companies are also using LiveMeeting Suite for a variety of applications.

"We are excited to be working with OnLive! to address our need for standards-based IP audio and data conferencing solutions," said Director of Engineering and Technology at Internet Operations Center, Inc., a Michigan-based global provider of Internet connectivity and business solutions. "LiveMeeting Suite provides us with a low-cost solution to facilitate business conferencing, collaborative engineering and training."

OnLive! Audio Conferencing Server

The Audio Conferencing Server provides moderated large group conferencing over IP networks. It is OnLive!'s second generation server software that uses the H.323 standard audio codec (G.723) to provide the highest quality audio while using the least bandwidth of any standard codec available today. The Audio Conferencing Server has extensive moderation capabilities that make it easy to manage large group conferences.

End-users have the ability to "raise a hand" to ask a question to the host. The host can then "pass the microphone" to an individual who is heard by everyone in the session. The server also contains the ability to divide large groups of users into individual rows in an auditorium. Users can talk amongst themselves in break out sessions or participate in the overall auditorium discussion.

The OnLive! Audio Conferencing Server also includes the Audio Conferencing SDK, a developer's toolkit that allows vertical solution providers to integrate audio conferencing into their customized applications. For example, EF Education, one of the world's leading providers of foreign language instruction, has licensed the OnLive! SDK to facilitate real-time language instruction. EF has built a Java environment which uses OnLive!'s SDK to allow large groups to participate, providing conversational language courses over the Internet at a lower cost and higher level of productivity than traditional language schools can offer.
